This weekend marks the release ofSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, but the trilogy’s creators are already planning the fourth installment,Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.However, it has been reported that the Writers’ Strike has put a stop toSpider-Man 4as fans now demand that Marvel must make use of AI to write their story.

Writers Strike Halts Spider-Man 4

Greg Brockman, the president and co-founder of OpenAI (the company that makes ChatGPT), recently praised the capabilities of artificial intelligence while quotingGame of Thrones. He quipped,“Imagine if you could use AI to rewrite that not-so-popular finale’s ending. Maybe even put yourself into the show.”

That is how entertainment will be, as Brockman predicted.

In Hollywood, we can’t deny that this generative artificial intelligence is already causing a great deal of unease just six months after ChatGPT’s release. Because one of the main reasons TV and movie screenwriters protested was their worry that chatbots would write or rewrite their scripts.

Thus, in an industry where streaming has overturned many of the established rules, the Writers Guild of America is on strike for better pay. However, rising concern is being expressed about AI.

Spider-Man 4Is Halted by a Writers’ Strike

It is true that the box office success ofSpider-Man: No Way Homeestablished a new standard for Tom Holland’s superhero. But up until this point, little had been said about a fourth standalone MCU movie.

Spider-Man 4is still in the works, but is currently on hold, according to Sony Pictures producerAmy Pascal. In a new interview with Variety to promote the release ofSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,Pascal assured:

“Are we going to make another movie? Of course we are. We’re in the process, but [with] the writers’ strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”

There aren’t any TV show or movie scripts being written while the Writers Guild of America fights for better streaming boom residuals. Additionally, script revisions for already written projects are prohibited while they are being filmed.

Pascal also hinted in other parts of the interview that a live-actionSpider-Manmovie starring a fictional character, Miles Morales, and aSpider-Womanmovie are both going to happen. The latter will be seen “sooner than you expect,” according to fellow producer Avi Arad.

Of course, Tom Holland’sSpider-Man 4might also show up in the upcoming Avengers film,The Kang Dynasty, which is scheduled to come out in May 2025.

Marvel Fans Demand That The Story Be Written By AI

Without a doubt, Marvel and DC are two of the most influential names in the history of entertainment. Some of the most well-known and adored characters in the record of pop culture have been introduced by them.

Whether you’re a fan of the comic books that started it all, or the video games that have given fans new ways to immerse themselves in the complex (created) worlds, Marvel and DC have truly found a way to reach their audiences via every available channel.

However, because of the ongoing writers’ strike, fans demand that Marvel must make use of AI to generate better scripts. Fans appear to believe that the AI scripts for these films would be somewhat similar.“AI script for these would be about the same anyways,” tweeted a fan, who appeared to be somewhat disappointed.

Consider the perspectives of others.

I think this is part of the process to usher in AI writing movies and saving money on hiring writers.

What does she mean nobody is working? Marvel was right outside my office filming the new dare devil show yesterday.

Somebody gotta still be writing lowkey to stay ahead of the game.

Call me crazy but the whole reason this strike is happening is cuz studios can’t “get themselves together” to pay them.

Well, the projects are likely to experience significant delays, as a result of the suspension of development. This may disappoint fans, who are eagerly anticipating the upcomingSpider-Manseries. The shows were not in active production and required the participation of writers in the developmental stage, even though no official release dates had been announced.

Thus, the spin-offs will probably be delayed in release because there are no signs that the ongoing writers’ strike will end soon.

This Friday, June 2,Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,which is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Justin K. Thompson, and Kemp Powers, will be released in theaters.
