It has been almost a year since Amber Heard and Johnny Depp went face to face in the sensational courtroom drama. After losing the case, Heard’s Hollywood career took a big hit as she would have to deal with negative publicity from the outside world which caused her to lose several prominent roles.

Before the whole ordeal, it was rumored that theAquamanactress was going to jump ship from the DCU into the MCU when she was considered for a Marvel role. After the trial ended, there have been no confirmations but it does not look like Amber Heard may be seen in the MCU anytime soon.

The actress once again found popularity when she played the role of Mera in DC’sAquamanfranchise. Starring in the James Wan movie, people loved her as the love interest of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and an integral character of the DCU.

Before the nefarious Depp defamation trial took place, Heard was also considered for a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As per rumors and speculations, Marvel president Kevin Feige wanted her for the role of Captain Marvel but ultimately went ahead with Brie Larson. The reason for this switch in the role was cited to be clashes between both cinematic universes since Heard also portrayed Mera in the DCU.
The infamous Depp defamation trial, however, also created a significant rift between theZombielandactor and Hollywood since it has been speculated that her screentime has been significantly decreased in the upcomingAquaman and the Lost Kingdom.There were several rumors that Heard would portray Jean Grey in the X-Men reboot or a significant character in theFantastic Fourfranchise but nothing came to pass.

Even though the trial has been completed, the intensity of it is something that people still talk about today. The ex-wife ofJohnny Depp, Lori Anne Allison recently talked about the infamous trial and called Amber Heard’s actions“horrific”.

Lori Anne Allison is a make-up artist who was married to Johnny Depp from 1983 to 1985. After the courtroom drama ended, Allison talked about what she felt during the trial and shared her thoughts with the world.

“The things that affected me more were the things he said in court. I probably broke down several times because I felt really bad for him [Johnny Depp]. I thought it was either going to be an epic train wreck or it was going to go really well… I think it would’ve killed him, well maybe not, but it just broke my heart that somebody could do that to him.
