Assassin’s Creed Shadows is undoubtedly the most popular AC game right now. With over 3 million players, it is the most played title in the AC franchise. Available on PC, Xbox, and PS5, Shadows is now heading to handheld consoles like the Nintendo Switch 2. Assassin’s Creed Shadows Rated For Nintendo Switch 2
According to thePEGI(Pan European Game Information) website, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has been rated for the Nintendo Switch 2. Although there is no clarity on when the game will launch on the handheld. It could debut onJune 5, the day Nintendo Switch 2 goes on sale, or sometime later this year.
For those unaware, PEGI is the same rating body that appears before the start of a trailer, so you must be familiar with “PEGI 18”. Its responsibility is to set an age rating for a specific game.
Although the page for Assassin’s Creed Shadows doesn’t specifically mention Nintendo Switch 2, it shows up on the “Most Searched Games” section of the PEGI website. While Ubisoft hasn’t officially announced the release of the game for Nintendo’s console, there is a high possibility that it will launch.
Shadows is also available on macOS and is arriving on M-series iPads in the future. Furthermore, Ubisoft has announced Star Wars Outlaws for the Nintendo Switch 2.

So it won’t be a stretch to imagine Shadows landing on the Switch 2 in the future, although it is unlikely to be a Day 1 title. Given that Star Wars Outlaws is releasing for Switch 2 on September 4, we can only expect Shadows to launch by the end of this year.
This would also make it the first RPG/open-world Assassin’s Creed game for the Nintendo Switch that can run natively. While Odyssey did launch on the original Switch, it was the cloud-streamed version was exclusive to Japan.
Nintendo Switch 2 is a generational leap over its predecessor. Many AAA titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring: Nightreign are coming to the Switch 2. While the graphics certainly won’t be anywhere close to a PC or PS5, it’s still great news for those gaming on the go.
