Popular series are known for replacing the lead actors featured in their movies. One of the most talked about and popular examples of the same is James Gunn replacing the Superman actor Henry Cavil in DC movies. And now DC Studios’ co-CEO is planning to introduce David Corenswet as the Kryptonian superhero. Alicia Vikander’sTom Raiderwas received very well by the audience, and considering this, the makers had plans to bring her back as Lara Croft in future sequels as well. However, the actress later shared that the sequel to the 2018 action-adventure has been in limbo during a 2022 interview. The halt in production was the result of Amazon’s acquisition of MGM.

She also shared that she cannot say much about it anymore as it’s out of her hands. The studio later revealed that MGM failed to green-light the project in time to retain the rights of the franchise. While it is claimed that the possibility of having a Tom Raider sequel is almost none, several reports also claim that a sequel is in the works, but Vikander might not return to the franchise again.
