Masashi Kishimoto’sBorutoseries has failed to attract mostNarutofans or live up to the prequel’s hype. The problem is attributed to the lackluster build-up to Boruto Uzumaki’s story and the constant power-scaling that the manga undergoes to portray the next generation as the ‘strongest.’ As a result,Borutohas overshadowed the legacy of one of the most iconic villains, Madara Uchiha.

Madara was considered to be the strongest Uchiha of his generation. He lived up to the title after being revived in the Fourth Shinobi War and subsequently activating the Chakra: Juubidara technique to become invincible. Fans used the main antagonist to compare Naruto and Sasuke’s strength, and even though he surpassed them, the origin ofBorutohas made Madara’s power pale in comparison to others, tainting the tyrannical legacy he built.
Boruto’sInsane Power Scaling Has Left Behind Madara Uchiha, The Strongest Of The Narutoverse
Madara Uchiha was at the peak of his powers in the Fourth Shinobi War arc, having tamed the Ten-Tails Beast and even mastered the Infinite Tsukonoymi to impose a genjutsu on the whole world. The villain obtained the god-like powers after consuming a Divine Tree that increased his Sage of the Six Path powers.

Characteristic of the Shonen genre, there was a twist the moment the villain seemed to be winning. Madara was struck down by Black Zetsu and eventually sealed into Kaguya’s body. Naruto and Sasuke managed to defeat Kaguya with a technique they learned from Hagoromo and thereby be on the winning side of the war.
Madara Uchiha was written off as one of the most powerful baddies at the end ofNaruto. Unfortunately, the villain’s grind to become the strongest would be rendered useless if he somehow re-appears inBoruto. In fact, the adult Boruto Uzumaki might be able to take him on with his destructive Uzuhiko Rasengan and Kishimoto’s usual implementation of plot armor.

Besides Boruto, Naruto Uzumaki has unlocked a new form named Baryon Mode that increases his chakra power exponentially. A similar case is for Sasuke Uchiha, who is considered to be training to re-learn the Rinnegan ability. Both have been written off fromTwo Blue Vortexto focus on Boruto but it is clear that they transcend Madara’s powers at the moment.

Even characters like Sakura, Sarada, Code, Kawaki, and Isshiki have grown stronger after the time skip. The off-page development of characters inBorutohasn’t been well-received by fans because the new techniques and subsequent power-scaling seem to be introduced out of necessity rather than anything organic.
Masashi Kishimotocould’ve described the hustle of each ninja as similar to that of Madara’s story arc. Unfortunately, characters automatically becoming stronger or brandishing new abilities without any proper teasers or background have made fans less invested in theBorutoseries.
The Problem In Re-Introducing Madara Uchiha InBoruto: Two Blue Vortex
Naruto fans have been speculating on the return of the ‘strongest Uchiha of all time’ since the disappointing ending to the character in the Fourth Shinobi War.Boruto: Two Blue Vortexhasn’t given any teasers about Madara’s introduction and the general consensus also states that re-introducing the Uchiha would be a grave mistake.
Kaguya Otsutsuki was sealed by Team 7 during the war arc. The character isconsidered to be deaddespite her immortality powers. Thus, Madara Uchiha, who was imprisoned inside Kaguya’s body, may also be dead or sealed for eternity.
Even if Masashi Kishimoto somehow manages to make Madara come out of his grave (seal), it would take an elaborate plot. Kishimoto can revert to his use of off-page development. showcasing how Madara grew stronger in Kaguya’s body or was able to escape and train himself for years, but such news will upsetNarutofans who are already coping with the power-scaling inTwo Blue Vortex.
The introduction of Madara will also take the limelight away from Kawaki and Code, the antagonists of Boruto Uzumaki, and it will be the same ol’ Naruto vs Uchiha rivalry. Masashi Kishimoto clearly wants to focus on the next generations after sidelining Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, and backtracking to Madara Uchiha won’t be a good decision.
