Brendan Fraser Blames Himself For His Son’s Autism
Following the success ofThe Whaleand Brendan Fraser’s Hollywood comeback, the actor got more comfortable with the people. Being a beloved actor, people had rooted for Fraser during his time off the screens and were there to support him when he made his comeback.

In an interview onThe Howard Stern Show, Brendan Fraser got candid about his personal life. Talking about the dark times, Fraser revealed that he took the blame when his son was diagnosed with autism. TheBedazzledactor had no idea what to do or how to cure his son.
“It felt like I was hit with a baseball bat in the back of the head. The first reaction that I had was, ‘I want to know how to fix this. What’s the cure? What does this mean?’ This isn’t the way it’s supposed to turn out. You blame yourself and you think, ‘My genealogy’ or ‘I smoked weed in college’.”
He further stated that although his divorce from ex-wife Afton Smith was a pretty big deal, he did not let it get in the way of his son’s therapy or emotional support.
“I paid more attention to my professional life than my personal one. But with Griffin, all bets are off. Who cares what our problems are with each other? That doesn’t matter.”
The actor, however, did say that seeing the condition of his son made him a better actor forThe Whalesince his son had no idea about cynicism and that made him as happy as a person can be.
