Carrie Anne Moss, who rose to international prominence with her role as Trinity inThe Matrixseries, was offered several other action movie roles, similar to that of Trinity, but the actress shut each of them, particularly out of her respect for her character inKeanu Reeves‘ blockbuster movies.

During an interview with GQ, the actress, who plays Neo’s love interest in the Lana Wachowski and Lilly Wachowski-directed films, explained:
“I didn’t ever want to have anyone else sort of use that. That was a hard line for me. If something smelled or felt, or had that [Trinity] energy… it was just like, no. It would have felt like an act of betrayal.”
It is also true that Moss took time to get used to the character. Previously, the actress revealed that she was shocked after watching the screen of the first installment because“it was so unnatural looking,”and all those special effects go against her natural instincts.
Carrie-Anne Moss Fumbled As An Action Star
While it’s true thatThe Matrixfilm series established the Canadian actress as a potential action star, it is also true that Carrie-Anne Moss couldn’t take a village full of stunt coordinators, actors, and choreographers that it took to execute various action scenes.

In a previous interview, she explained:
“The first day of which was 3 hours of running, Kung Fu, and taping all these different fights. A really intense 3 hours of just brutal training from which I couldn’t walk for days.”
She also revealed that the cartwheel sequence that fans were thrilled about, actually made her weep during the filming of that stunt. It was because of the harrowing experience, Moss decided to “never make an action film again.” But then, that vow got broken withTom Cruise’sMission Impossible 3(2006). But again, the lady isn’t a traitor in real-life!
