With the latest chapter 140 ofChainsaw ManManga, the series is back with a huge statement to make. Within the veil of the fantastic storyline and bizarre antiques of the characters, the hit manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto covered controversial religious topics. What was the New Chapter of Chainsaw Man Manga About?
In the latest chapter ofChainsaw Man, Denji gets pitched by a shady Church. With Armageddon on the horizon and the rapid victories of Chainsaw Man, there was the ignition of a cult following among the people. Denji gets approached by this Church, and after much negotiation, he somewhat joins with a dubious conviction. However, the Church’s ideologies bewildered the Chainsaw Man, and he second-guessed his decision.
The leaders of the Church were students, and they portrayed adults as evil due to believing that they were indoctrinated by the American ultraviolet rays weapons. With a very uncalled-for panel where the Church explains why child marriage is good and why the concept of adult marriage was invented by Americans. With the guidance of his friend, Sword Man, Denji concretes his decision and full-throttles his way out of the cult.

What is Scientology and Its Impact on Tom Cruise’s Life?
Scientology was started by an American author, L. Ron Hubbard. It could be outlined as a cult or a new religious movement. The main idea behind Scientology is that it believes that people have hidden abilities that are subconscious. Spiritual awakening and physical benefits acquired through counseling sessions referred to as “auditing,” could make those abilities function correctly.
In the Hollywood superstar’s personal life, Scientology played a considerable role. The reason behindTom Cruise‘s divorce from his wives, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes, was stated to be his Scientological beliefs. Katie Holmes later revealed that she didn’t want their daughter to be raised within Scientology and, therefore, filed for divorce papers.

Did the Series Mean to Satirize Tom Cruise and his Beliefs?
Despite the radical scientific beliefs, underage marriage, and peculiar out-of-the-box ideas, Denji doesn’t join the Church in the end. With this chapter and the bold presentation of their own church, it could be rather presumptuous to conclude that the main motive of Mangaka Tatsumi Fujimoto was to hurt the sentiments of the Hollywood actor Tom Cruise. This chapter could be seen as a build-up for the rather intense plot awaiting the fans ofChainsaw Man.
