Gary Oldman was accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife Donya Fiorentino
The Dark Knightactor separated from his third wife Donya Fiorentino, in 2001. Fiorentino had filed for divorce, accusing her husband of assaulting her in front of their two children, Gulliver and Charlie.
Oldman replied to the accusations saying, they were“replete with lies, innuendoes and half-truths”.In later court filings, the actor shared withpeople.com,
“False allegations of spousal abuse… were rejected by the City Attorney’s Office, the District Attorney’s office, and this court”.
Oldman was granted custody of both their children, with the provision of supervised visits for Fiorentino, as the custody fight went on for years in court.

Gary Oldman’s son defended his father on allegations
The actor was forced to defend himself again in front of the media whenDaily Mailinterviewed the former model when Oldman was in the run-up for Academy Awards. She accused him of domestic abuse and falsely winning the custody of his children. The actor won the Academy Award for best actor in 2018.
However, after reading the derogatory interview of his mother, Gulliver published an open letter about the whole affair.
“Custody of children is not given to a wife beater, and under most circumstances, hardly ever a man. My having lived full-time with my father should be in itself proof enough … I was there at the time of the ‘incident’ so I’d like to make this radiantly clear: it didn’t happen. Anyone who says it did is lying. He’s an icon in the acting world, and it seems as though Gary Oldman has the full respect of his kids, too. He is a wonderfully kind man, gifted beyond belief.”
