Bethesda’sStarfieldbecame the biggest-ever launch from the developers after it surpassed 6 million players just a day after release. The game has received mixed reactions but it should still be acknowledged that Bethesda has delivered a top-notch game for players with an immersive storyline, exploration, and customizations so that they would keep coming back to play.

Bethesda on September 7th went on to X, formerly Twitter, to share the achievement of the game of six million players, making it the biggest launch of the year even after it skipped launch on PlayStation. However, it looks like this big game is still ahead ofStarfieldwhen it comes to sales numbers and is a great contender for the position of the top-selling game of 2023.

Hogwarts LegacyMight Beat Bethesda’sStarfield
Starfieldcrossed 6 million players and one million concurrent users just a day after its full launch. However,Hogwarts Legacytops the chart of the best-selling game of the year as the game sold a massive 12 million copies in only two weeks after its release. This number comes just from the sales for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and the game was released a bit later on Xbox One and PS4 which would have increased the numbers.
It is to be noted thatStarfieldhowever is only released on Xbox and PC and this number is still impressive, owing to Xbox and PC Game Pass. Also,Hogwarts Legacyis gearing up to release on Nintendo Switch this November which will further boost the sales for the game.

Starfieldis Bethesda’s Biggest Ever Lunch
Bethesda has critically acclaimed games under its belt likeThe Elder Scrollsand theFalloutseries and still managed to cruise past them withStarfieldas it became their biggest launch ever with 6 million players just a day after the release. Xbox walled off the game from releasing on other platforms and made it an Xbox exclusive creating more hype around the game and hence it received such a response upon release.
Starfield‘s release surely took the gaming world by storm but in comparison to the numbers of the other Bethesda games it still could do better. For example,The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimwas released in 2011 and sold reportedly around 3 million copies in two days and climbed over 7 million in the first week. But note that it was released on multiple platforms and not just Xbox and PC. It is, however, still early forStarfieldas there are players who could jump into the game and it remains to be seen how further the numbers go.
