Fortunate Staris a void lightweight frame combat bow introduced in the 2024 Solstice of Heroes event. Bows are powerful if niche PVE and PVP weapons that do a lot of damage in a single shot, but with a slower rate of fire. Lightweight frame bows do slightly less damage per shot, but have overall better stats across the board than precision frame bows. The Fortunate Star can be Enhanced, granting it better stats and access to enhanced perks in Columns 3 and 4. The Fortunate Star is an event weapon, so it is only available for a limited time during the Solstice of Heroes event. In this guide, we will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Fortunate Star combat bow.

PvE God Roll Breakdown

Fortunate Star has a lot going on for it when it comes to PvE. It has several perks options that are considered great and a few that are unavailable on any other bow. Combat bows benefit from increased draw time and accuracy. As such, the combination of thePolymer String, FiberglassArrow Shaft, and aDraw Timemasterwork get our draw time to a minimum while still getting a nice accuracy boost. Mods aren’t super important on bows, but this one benefits fromCounterbalance Stockor Quick Access Sling mod.

Things get interesting when we start looking at Columns 3 and 4. There are a lot of great combinations here, with most of them being available on other bows though. One combination that is not currently available on any other bow though is the Void build combo ofRepulsor BraceandDestabilizing Rounds.Destabilizing Rounds constantly applies the volatile debuff to combatants, while Repulsor Brace grants an overshield for defeating void debuffed combatants. This of course allows for a constant supply of overshields, which is a huge boon in end-game content. Both of the origin traits on the Fortunate Star are decent, butVeist Stingeris probably the more consistent of the two. Overall, this roll is unique and powerful enough to warrant chasing it down during the Fortunate Star’s limited run during the Solstice of Heroes.

Other PvE Rolls of Note

How to Use the Fortunate Star in PvE

Legendary bows of any type fill the same roll in PvE activities. They are generally used in Master to Grandmaster level content, where survivability and range are paramount options. Combat bows do a lot of damage in one single precision shot, making them an ideal choice when you need to take enemies down quickly from a great range. Lightweight frames tend to be more forgiving than precision frames but do slightly less damage.

Even though it can fill the roll any bow can, Fortunate Star’s unique roll makes it pair very well in Void or Prismatic builds that work off of the overshield buff. This increases its lethality to large groups of enemies while making it a great defensive option to boot. Just verify to target those volatile enemies to get the most use out of it.

PvP God Roll Breakdown

Fortunate Star doesn’t have as many interesting options as PvE options, but the ones it does have are really good. Just like PvE, combat bows benefit from increased draw time and accuracy. As such, the combination of thePolymer String, FiberglassArrow Shaft, and aDraw Timemasterwork get our draw time to a minimum while still getting a nice accuracy boost.Targeting Adjusteris just a great overall mod to use in PvP on most weapons, and Fortunate Star benefits from it as well but Freehand Grip may also be powerful considering its god roll.

Fortunate Star has a great perk combination for PvP in Columns 3 and 4. The combination ofHip-Fire GripandArcher’s Gambitturn this bow into a fast-firing machine.Hip-Fire Gripincreases the effectiveness of firing from the hip, whileArcher’s Gambitlowers the draw time of the bow significantly. This allows for some ridiculous plays that are otherwise next to impossible just using a bow. This roll is not unique to the Fortunate Star as the precision frame Hush can also roll with it. That being said, lightweight frames have a faster draw time than precision frames. It is worth going after Fortunate Star with this roll as well since Hush has several more perks it can roll with, but its limited-time availability could mean Hush is your only option.

Other PvP Rolls of Note

How to Use the Fortunate Star in PvP

Bows of all frames fill a niche place in the PvP sandbox. They are primarily used as a hot swap weapon, meaning you fire off your arrow and then quickly switch to hand cannon to “clean up” the kill. Building into handling and fast weapon swaps is essential for this type of playstyle, but it remains a powerful if difficult to master option.

However, Fortunate Star’s god roll shouldn’t be played that way. Instead, you should be going for quick kills without aiming down sites. If you can keep chaining kills, you can keep up a ridiculously low draw time. This will make the fire rate of Fortunate Star so fast that you can get a sub-1-second time-to-kill, which is unheard of on bows. This is a bow worth chasing for that reason alone.
