Dwayne Johnson’s vision to weave a whole DC universe with Black Adam on the forefront has washed off pretty quickly, considering its critical and commercial bombing which led to a state of disdain between the actor and the studio.

After the misfire of his long-awaited project on the big screen, Dwayne Johnson finally seems to reflect on himself as he admits the failure of his passion project and is now looking to learn from this experience while moving forward.

Dwayne Johnson’s plan for a newDCsurrounding him has been put under the weather after James Gunn and Peter Safran’s entry into the office, who are adamant about scrapping the last remains of the dying DCEU and starting a fresh chapter for the characters and it seems The Rock’s ambitions for aBlack Adamuniverse has been shelved in the corner.

Amidst the power vacuum in the studio which arose after Toby Emmerich and Walter Hamada left the office, The Rock was able to greenlight his multiyear plans for the character to finally clash with Henry Cavill’s superman, but after the new leadership, his vision has been shredded after the removal of Henry Cavill from the universe, eventually putting a full stop to Johnson’s dream of encountering superman in live-action.

Dwayne Johnson admits Black Adam’s failure

The bridge between him and the studio finally broke after the disappointing performance of the movie, which only earned $392 million of an overwhelming budget of $195 million plus another $40 million for reshoots, eventually putting his idea for a future as Black Adam universe in a sandbox. Since then, the WWE champion finally seems to reflect on his failure to kickstart a franchise.

With a recent post, Dwayne Johnson finally accepts the failure and the disappointing performance of his dream project without any elongated excuses, finally recognizing the reasons behind the failure and now looking to move in the right direction. He also went on to thank his good friend and motivational speaker Inky Johnson for providing him with a unique perspective in these adverse times. Through an Instagram caption, Dwayne Johnson stated,

“While having the guts to fail is extremely uncomfortable. And sometimes it’s scary. Even though the Rock’s tenure with the DC seems to be over as James Gunn and Peter Safran have pulled the plugs from Teth Adam in the initial chapters of DCU, Dwayne Johnson is now looking to take his future projects in the right direction while acknowledging the mistakes from this experience.
