Back in 2018,Jujutsu Kaisenquickly climbed the ranks and became a fan-favorite anime. One of the big reasons behind its popularity is its super cool power system — which is all about cursed energy.

This energy comes from negative feelings like fear, anger, and hatred. It’s a pretty unique and refreshing idea, which makes fans totally hooked up.
But now, it looks like the series is coming to an end. Because recently fans have seen the most devastating death of one of their favorite anime characters.

Gojo’s death definitely impacted the fans and they have expressed their sincere grief on social media too. Do you think his death hints toward the end of the series? Maybe.
Even Gege Akutami, the creator ofJujutsu Kaisenalso indicated that among Gojo and the first-year characters, either one person would die or everyone would — except for one.

Gege Akutami’s Bombshell Announcement That Still Confuses Fans
In an interview at Jump Festa, Gege Akutami answered that“among Gojo and the first years, either one person will die or everyone will die except for one person.”
Someone sent me this link on cc to be translated, it’s an interview about the ending

It sure seems like the creator is pointing toward that kind of ending — where either one person survives, or everyone else does except for one. Based on the above interpretation, it looks like Yuji might be the one to live while losing everyone else, not fulfilling his grandfather’s wish.

While people were anticipating that Gojo would not die soon in the manga, we all know he is dead at least for now. So, this prediction (where Yuji will survive in the end) somehow looks true. It does sound like a dark and sad conclusion — let’s see how it all unfolds.

Will theJujutsu KaisenSeries End Soon?
By reading the above statement, it looks like Akutami is definitely looking to wrap up things withJujutsu Kaisen. On that X post, one X user (@gojoonlyfans) wrote:
“So either only Megumi survives or like Gojo is the only one that survives and all of his students are dead no in between.”
It was a comment from 2020, but now if we look at today’s status – Gojo is already dead. So can we really anticipate that Megumi will be the survivor? It’s hard to predict or even confirm though. Some fans were not happy with this message. Read some of their comments below:
So that’s a no the happy ending ? 😭

Well then….. That statement hurts a little. I’m just gonna say that if Gojo dies, so will my heart 😭

It is just a statement that is not confirmed yet. In Jump Festa 2023, Gege Akutami said he is looking to wrap up the manga in two years. Later, he also assured fans that they could expect a delay in theJujutsu Kaisenmanga ending. So, things are definitely heating up towards a big ending.
