Finally Google’s Tensor Chip Is Getting Better With TSMC
Google’s Pixel phones have always been among the best Android smartphones. But if there’s one area where they’ve fallen short, the Tensor chip. Since its debut with the Pixel 6, the chip has delivered decent performance but often struggled with heating issues and wasn’t on par with other flagship processors from likes of Qualcomm.
Now, nearly five years later, Google is finally stepping up. The company is working to improve the Tensor chip’s performance, which could be a game-changer for future Pixel phones.

According toDigitimes, Google is teaming up with TSMC to manufacture its upcoming Tensor chips for Pixel devices. The next-gen Tensor G5 chip is expected to debut with thePixel 10 series. Google has reportedly locked in a long-term plan with TSMC to produce Tensor chips for at least the next 3 to 5 years.
This means Google’s partnership with TSMC will likely continue until at least the launch of the Pixel 14 series. It could be a solid step forward in improving the performance and efficiency of future Pixel phones.
Why Partnering with TSMC Could Be a Game-Changer for Pixel
TSMC, or Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, is the world’s largest contract chipmaker. They manufacture chips for major tech companies like Apple, AMD, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm. Their expertise in producing high-performance mobile processor chips makes them a valuable partner for any smartphone manufacturer.
TSMC’s technology has been used in Apple’sA18 Pro chip, which is built on a 3nm process and powers the iPhone16 Pro models. This shows TSMC’s ability to produce top-notch chipsets.
Overall, Google’s partnership with TSMC will help address previous performance issues with Tensor chips and push the Pixel series to a new level.
The Pixel 10 series is expected to debut later this year in the second half of 2025. Let’s see how the new chipset performs and compete with the other Smartphone manufacturers.
That’s it, folks! Stay tuned for more updates like this.
