Cobie Smulders has been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a long time now and her upcoming series,Secret Invasion,already has some of the most positive reviews the franchise has seen in a while. However, none of her roles would be as iconic as Robin Scherbatsky inHow I Met Your Mother.The series has gotten praise ever since it aired and continued to get it until its final season.

With all the characters, there was finally growth in their story, especially in the stories of Robin and Neil Patrick Harris’s Barney Stinson. There is a lot that takes place in their lives and it all comes down to the final season where things begin to settle. The mother finally got revealed and things were settling for the best. However, the finale crushed the fans brutally and since then, the series had a bad reputation.

Cobie Smulders Defended The Ending of How I Met Your Mother

Cobie Smuldersrevealed that despite the backlash the show got because of the finale, she was quite fond of the ending thatHow I Met Your Motherhad. The fans were so happy to see Barney and Robin get together. The entire final season was about their wedding and how despite all their differences, the two got married because of how much they loved each other.

“Watching it as a streaming show now, you get a little bit more of a connection for other relationships,”she added.“I think at the end of the series between Robin and Barney, that was sort of the relationship everyone was rooting for.”

The ending saw the two breaking things off and getting divorced, and then Robin finally getting together with Ted. Smulders defended the ending by saying that the show came full circle. That was because when the series first began, it was all about how everyone wanted Ted and Robin to get together.

Cobie Smulders Believes That Streaming Helps The Show’s Ending

Cobie Smulders further added that things were more than better for the ending thanks to the availability of streaming services. The ability to binge-watch shows has given a sense of flow to Ted and Robin’s story that weekly viewers lacked.

“So, I think that it’s a different way to watch the show now when you see it in its entirety.”

Robin and Barney’s story only became concrete as the seasons passed by. However, Smulders’ character and Ted had a relationship that was constantly on again and off again. So it became more than memorable for the cast and some fans to see them ending up together.
