During an exclusive interview withEsquire, Vince Gilligan shared that theshow was not meant to be watched by everyone. As a result, he struggled a lot to find a studio that would like to handle the franchise.
“Breaking Bad didn’t get a ‘no’ from everybody in town, only because we were smart enough not to pitch to everybody in town. I figured this was not going to be everybody’s cup of tea, so it really wasn’t surprising that the show got turned down a lot.”

AMC decided to take a risk on the show and it was worth it asBreaking Badwent on to become the most popular TV Series of all time. However, it nearly got canceled after the third season; FX showcased its interest in the show. However, upon learning this AMC renewed the show for the 4th season. But the real fun began, when Netflix decided to air the first three seasons of the show, inviting a whole new generation of fans, and making the show more popular than ever.
