Indie Filmmakers Were Mad At Florence Pugh For Joining The MCU
Florence Pughstarted making a name for herself by doing indie films such asMisdommar, Fighting With My Family, The Wonder, and her most popular Indie filmLady Macbeth. And as a young actress, she has showcased her caliber in different genres, which made her a worthy star to be in the big leagues. Recently, theDon’t Worry Darlingactress gave an interview to TIME Magazine, where she shared that numerous Indie filmmakers were“pissed off”at her for signing an exclusive deal with the superhero franchise.
“So many people in the indie film world were really pissed off at me. They were like, ‘Great, now she’s gone forever.’ And I’m like, no, I’m working as hard as I used to work.”

The Marvel actress added it was untrue because she has been doing back-to-back films, and even though she signed an exclusive deal with Marvel, she did an indie film in 2022, one year after the release of Marvel’sBlack Widow.
“I’ve always done back-to-back movies. It’s just people are watching them now. You just have to be a bit more organized with your schedule.”

While theKing Learactress signed an exclusive deal with Marvel, and in her debut film for the franchise, she worked with Scarlett Johansson. Sadly, at the end of the film Yelena Boleva, Pugh’s character lost her family, hence she thought of making some changes to her character before returning to the franchise.

Florence Pugh Developed Her Character AfterBlack Widow
During an interview with Marvel, Pugh shared some details about her role as Yelena Boleva, theThunderboltsactress shared in the accounts of the aftermath happened inBlack Widow,she thought of making some changes to her character denoting some development to the character.
“I think when we finished Black Widow I knew in the back of my head that if this character was asked to come back, [she] would be a completely different person because the whole film, the whole storyline of Black Widow, is that she’s got her sister back and she’s found her family again.”
This is one of the traits of the actress, as she thinks of the characters as real people, and her performance not only focuses on her dialogues but also on the emotional growth of the character. As fans could see Yelena Boleva as a sarcastic and reckless character but when she reprises her role inHawkeye, she is furious, broken, vicious, and full of grief at the death of her sister, Natasha Romanoff. And she will reprise her role inThunderbolts, fans are excited because they will see more sides of the character.
