Marvel’s Kevin Feige wanted to cut corny Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Scene. Sam Raimi, the director of the film said that he pictured that stare-down between Doctor Strange and Baron Mordo in one of his old films. While he was talking to the writer, Michael Waldron, he pointed out the resemblance to The Quick and The Dead. Any Raimi fans would recognize the stare-down immediately.

What was Feige’s concern?
Kevin Feige was concerned about the fact that the western style staring contest would make the audience lose interest. The reference was noticed by even Waldron. When we come to the fans, it is known that they won’t consider or show empathy towards such things. Doctor Strange 2 was at its limit as compared to Sam’s previous works like The Spider man and The Evil Dead. It was his luck that the Marvel Studious head did not want to fight him over such a small thing.

What did Kevin and Raimi have to say about it?
Sam Raimi explained that while he was having a conversation with Kevin, Kevin thought it to be corny stuff, but he insisted on keeping it and so Kevin let Raimi have his corny stuff.
Kevin said that he has always loved working with Sam. In his head, he was always sitting and discussing the stories with Sam. He also said that he had watched all Sam Raimi movies and he always had a special interest in his dialogue. When Kevin introduced the Zombies, Sam was himself hesitant about it, because he did not want it to sound like a Sam Raimi thing.
