There are a bunch of times when a big-name Hollywood star has such a striking and intense persona and/or air about them which leads many who don’t know them to start making assumptions about different aspects of their life. In this regard, Tom Cruise considers himself an unlucky man since being one of the biggest names in the business means a lot of attention and a lot of talking about him in the world.

Naturally, those conversations have often led to some very bizarre claims coming from different people about what the star actually does or doesn’t do in his personal and professional life. But by far, one of the rumors that Cruise himself felt was truly absurd was where he heard that he doesn’t let any of his cast or crew members look him directly in the eye.

Co-Stars Debunk Tom Cruise Rumor FromMission: ImpossibleSet

Since he is arguably the biggest name in the hierarchy of the Hollywood industry, people are curious to know whatTom Cruiseis like in person, and naturally, they seek answers from any source they can get. But also naturally, there are weird news and rumors about him that spread like wildfire amongst the public. One time, it was claimed that the star demanded that no matter which cast and crew he would be working with, no one should look at him directly in the eye like he was Medusa from the old Greek legends.

While this rumor had no base to it, it was still very widespread misinformation about theTop Gunstar. In a recent interview with his long-timeMission: Impossibleco-star Simon Pegg and director, Christopher McQuarrie revealed that they could safely say this wasn’t the case. McQuarrie himself clarified this when he asked Cruise himself about the weirdest rumor he had heard about himself, to which the star replied with the aforementioned quirky information. Pegg also supported this claim, saying that he was just a normal guy on set, saying:

“I have been able to hack my way through all the bizarre mythology that surrounds [Cruise]. On one side he’s Tom Cruise – this enigmatic film star everyone wants to know about, and on the other, he’s just a guy. I like being normal with him.”

Pegg also says that although theEyes Wide Shutstar may come off as intense at many times, it stems from his passion and dedication to his work and nothing more. Cruise seemed to find this rumor rather hilarious and that made it even more absurd.
