The inclusion of James Gunn in The House of Superman as the co-head of the DCU was one of the most surprising news in the world of pop culture. The universe that went through several bad decisions saw a large number of fans coming in support of the filmmaker and Peter Safran for their new positions as the heads of DCU. The decision was also widely appreciated by the faces of the rival MCU who came forward to praise Gunn.

It was Mark Ruffalo who openly stated in a public meeting that it was one of the best decisions to hire James Gunn as the co-head. The Hulk fame also added that this decision will have an impact on the MCU.

Did Mark Ruffalo Predict James Gunn’s DCU Success?
Mark Ruffalohas been associated with the Marvel Cinematic Universe from its earliest days. Although he has never got a chance to work with the esteemed filmmaker, James Gunn’s perfection in MCU’sGuardians of the Galaxytrilogy is well known. TheAvengers: Endgamestar didn’t hesitate to claim that Gunn’s entry into DCU will have Marvel‘sweating’.
When the Bruce Banner fame appeared at the Emerald City Comic Con, he was asked by an interviewer to give some friendly advice to the rival studio. Ruffalo wasn’t shy to admit that nobody can be better thanThe Suicide Squaddirector for the job.

“I would say, hire James Gunn, cause nobody does it better. And Marvel should be sweating because James Gunn is a really gifted filmmaker and I think he’s going to be amazing for that franchise.”
Although Gunn implemented several changes in the DC slate which were highly criticized by the fans, the director addressed that he would do everything needed to give a smooth flow to the universe. The studio is set to kick off the new universe with David Corenswet’s upcomingSuperman: Legacy.

It can’t be denied that James Gunn’s addition can be a potential game-changer in the superhero market for DC. However, if it will‘sweat’Marvel is a tricky question and doesn’t have an answer as simple as that.

Will MCU face a serious impact by DCU?
Kevin Feige was one of the first people who congratulatedJames Gunnon his new position in the DCU. Although both studios always try to maintain healthy competition, the internet was quick to predict the possibilities after DC found its version of Feige to show them a uniform direction.
But the 56-year-old filmmaker was quick to clarify that both universes contain significant contrasting themes in their own way and he certainly doesn’t want to create a‘Marvel 2.0’.
“A lot of people think this can be Marvel 2.0. And definitely, I learned a lot of stuff at Marvel. You know, I think that we have a lot of differences. I think that one of the reasons why I love DC is it really is another universe. It’s an alternate world.”

Gunn explained his point by giving one major example of the geography shown in both universes. While the events of MCU mostly occur in New York, San Francisco, and other real-life locations, the DCU contains more fictional elements.
“In Marvel, generally, it’s, you know, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, and then everyplace else in the world is a fictional universe for some reason. Here at DCU, we have Metropolis and Gotham and Themyscira, and Atlantis, and all of that is another fictional universe.”
Despite Marvel running through a very tough time with several projects failing to raise to the standards of the pre-Endgameera, it is too quick to announce it as a failed Universe. On the other hand, it is also too soon to say something about DCU, but it will be hoped that the words of Mark Ruffalo become true. This will also let the superhero fans see another coherent and smooth comic book universe.
