Netflix released the first look of Adam Sandler’s sci-fi drama,Spaceman, earlier on Tuesday. Sandler fans are super excited to see the actor in a role reminiscent of Howard Ratner inUncut Gems. Directed by Emmy winner Johan Renck, the film also stars Paul Dano, Carey Mulligan, Kunal Nayyar, and Isabella Rossellini.

Spacemanis based on the 2017 novelSpaceman of Bohemiaby Jaroslav Kalfař and explores the solo space mission of Czech Republic astronaut Jakub Procházka. The film marks the latest addition to Sandler’s ongoing collaboration with the streaming platform.

The film was originally slated for a 2023 release, but the production was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes.Spacemanis now scheduled to be released on August 02, 2025.
