Nicole Kidman has worked on some of the most incredible and liked movies, easily making her a fan-favorite actress. She is talented with the amount of roles she has played and the actors that she has worked with. Being an Oscar-winning star, there are roles both superhero-worthy and that of romance at heart that she has indulged in. FromPractical MagictoBig Little Lies,there is no genre she stands afraid of.

One movie, which had a lot going into it,Australia,also happened to be Kidman’s only film with Hugh Jackman. Although the 2008 film did not have a lot to gain, seeing it to be rather mediocre. Many liked the film while many did not. Those in the latter seemed to be more. Interestingly enough, it also included Kidman herself.

Nicole Kidman Hated Her Performance in Hugh Jackman’s Movie

Speaking with theDaily Mail,Nicole Kidmanrevealed how things for her when it comes to her roles have always been a matter of experience. However, forAustralia,she hated how her role turned out to be. She admitted that the role had been far from what she expected when it came to her performance.

“I can’t look at this movie and be proud of what I’ve done,”Kidman stated. “I sat there and I looked at [husband Keith Urban] and went, ‘Am I any good in this movie?’ But I thought Brandon Walters and Hugh Jackman were wonderful. It’s just impossible for me to connect to it emotionally at all.”

Kidman explained that she never liked her performance in the film no matter how much she tried. She stated that she was never proud of it and even went ahead to ask Keith Urban about how she did and if she did well. Despite how well she felt everyone else did, her own performance fell short in her opinion.

Nicole Kidman, while conversing with the Daily Mail, also revealed that there was only one reason she attended the premiere forAustralia.Baz Lurhmann, with whom she madeMoulin Rouge,was responsible for the same. Kidman admitted that watching her own films isn’t something she usually does.

“I don’t usually see my films, but because of Baz I had to see it. I saw Moulin Rouge,”she added. “I’ve really only seen that and this in my whole career.”

She, however, chose to make an exception for Lurhmann because she had done the same for the previous film as well. Kidman even reiterated as to how there are only two films in her entire career that she has chosen to watch.
