MCU’s Nick Fury, who was first introduced as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D (an espionage and law enforcement agency), inIron Man(2008) post-credit scene, has continued to dazzle Marvel fans with his iconic character, dedicated to protecting the earth against any threat.
After Jackson uttered those heartbreaking words in the trailer ofSecret Invasion(2023), fans have continued to wonder if the 74-year-old is done with his most consistent role. TheDie Hard with a Vengeancestar, who has continued to play the role of bad*** Nick Fury in 11 MCU films, recently expressed his thoughts on retiring from his long-running role.

Jackson revealed that he is“not done”playing the character, and will be out“somehow, some way”in the new phase of MCU. The actor, who confused fans with his lines,“one last fight”in thenew trailerof the upcoming series,Secret Invasion, clarified:
“I love playing him, and I love the fact that they’re opening him up to all these other possibilities and this whole life that he has. So hopefully I’m not done, and in this new phase of the MCU I’ll still be floating in and out of there somehow, some way.”

Samuel L. Jackson is all set to make a comeback in a whole new avatar of Nick Fury inSecret Invasion, which includes an ensemble cast like Ben Mendelsohn as Skrull General, Talos,Emilia Clarkeas G’iah, daughter of Talos, and Kingsley Ben-Adir as Gravik, leader of radical Skrull faction.

On his comeback in the upcoming series, Samuel L. Jackson expressed that the series is an“opportunity to humanize someone”that’s widely considered as“superhuman”by those in the story and MCU fans. He said:
“All those things are part of a Nick Fury that’s invulnerable. Here you have a guy who’s showing his face, and showing his age. It’s an opportunity to humanise someone that everybody thinks is superhuman.”

In the interview, Jackson expressed that viewers will be able to connect with Nick Fury’s soul, and delve into“how much of a toll his job actually takes on his personal life.”
As Nick Fury drops his old look, giving away his rusted leather jacket, a 74-year-old Jackson is set to introduce the real man behind the ever-strong Marvel character. While Nick Fury embarks on his“one last fight”, it’s certainly not his last time with the character.
