Known for starring in the MCU as Peggy Carter, Hayley Atwell has recently been in conversation for starring alongside Tom Cruise inMission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.The movie features her as a thief, Grace, who becomes Ethan Hunt’s new ally. The 41-year-old actress shared that the movie offered the opportunity and platform to show her range as an actor.
However, she has also admitted that matching the energy of the action star Tom Cruise was still not an easy task. Atwell shared insight into her challenges and how her co-star provided support to help her stay on course during the filming during an interview.

Hayley Atwell Opens Up About Filming Action Sequences With Tom Cruise
In a conversation withInterview Magazine,Mission ImpossibleactressHayley Atwellopened up about filming with the renowned action starTom Cruise. She recalled filming the train sequence for the movie, saying that she was drained after multiple takes.
“It takes six seconds for this real-sized train carriage to go to horizontal to vertical, so on ‘action,’ we would have to run up a very steep incline just in time to hold onto a bar, where we’d be suspended with a ravine below us.”
The actress shared that she was“puffing and panting”after doing the stunt for about six times. Apart from the train sequence, she also had a hard time keeping up with her co-star’s extensive running. Atwell shared that she was told that she would have to run beside Cruise in high heels while being handcuffed to him.
“Well, bearing in mind I’m in high heels, and I’m also handcuffed to him, just being able to not fall flat on my face was the initial goal,”she shared when asked if she was attempting to run faster than the Oscar-nominated actor. She also shared that her co-star looked out for her while filming such exhausting sequences.

Hayley Atwell Recalled How Tom Cruise Helped Her During Action Sequences
Hayley Atwell shared that she was exhausted when they went back for another take for the train sequence. Cruise looked at the actress, who shared she was in a“frazzled state”at the time, and asked her if she was okay. Atwell, however, did not know what was going on with her.
“And I could see in his eyes that obviously what he was looking back at was someone who’s probably in a bit of a frazzled state. And he was like, ‘You okay?’ And I just remember going, ‘I don’t know. I don’t even know what I don’t know.'”
However, her co-star offered his assistance, telling her,“I think you may have adrenal fatigue,”and suggested eating some chocolate.“I wolfed it down, and then we went again, and I was faster, sharper, with a smile on my face,”she recalled during the interview.
