American actor and filmmaker John Krasinski first gained recognition for his work as Jim Halpert on the NBC sitcomThe Office(2005–2013). The actor once revealed that he rewrote the entire script of the movie because of his and Blunt’s second daughter, Violet. John Krasinski was worried he ruinedA Quiet Place‘s screenplay after he rewrote the script
In 2019, actor, director, and writerJohn Krasinskiappeared onThe Hollywood Reporter‘s Writers Roundtable alongside Bo Burnham, Tamara Jenkins, Peter Farrelly, and Eric Roth. During the interview, Krasinski was asked if he was worried that he ruined the screenplay after he rewrote the script of 2018’sA Quiet Place. The actor replied,
“Absolutely, yeah, because to me it was a high-wire act and I’m sure everybody can agree there’s something about the high-wire act that’s so much more appealing than the easy one and, so I was terrified of sound being not only a main character – but the main character. I was also so excited by it and was really nice to be a part of a movie.”
Initially, Krasinski wrote the screenplay with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, but then Krasinski was appealed by the concept of parents protecting their children, so he rewrote the film and became the director.

A Quiet Placewas a “love letter” for John Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s kids
During the conversation, Krasinski said that he explained his vision to his wife, Emily Blunt, stating that the movie could be a “love letter” for their kids as Krasinski focused on parents protecting their children in the new script. The actor recalled,
“I pitched my wife, I said, ‘I think I can rewrite this script and make it about our kids, it’s a love letter to our kids’ and she’s like, ‘The one about creatures killing everything?'”adding,“She was actually the one who said then you have to direct it because I pitched her in about three hours and she said, ‘You have to go direct the movie.'”
Krasinski’sA Quiet Placewas well received by the fans, grossed more than $350 million worldwide, and was nominated for several prestigious awards. Thanks to its success, a sequel,A Quiet Place Part II, was created and released in 2020.
