Jackie Chan On Turning Down Offers To Work With Sylvester Stallone

According to Chan’s autobiography,Never Grow Up, he refused Stallone’s offer to play a villain in Demolition Man and a drug dealer in the fourth Rambo movie, stating that it didn’t feel right for him as these roles don’t align with his past work, and may taint his image of being a rightful action hero. Stallone also wanted Chan to appear in bothThe Expendables 2and3, but scheduling conflicts and the fear of a small role prevented him from accepting the offers.

TheCrime Storystar revealed that he has been approached forThe Expendables 4, similarly to its last two predecessors, but he again refused to work asThe Tuxedostar wishes to share Stallone alone.The Expendablesfranchise is known for its big celebrity star cast, and it looks likeJackie Chanis in no mood to be a part of all this, fearing his character’s role. TheChinese Zodiacstar also revealed that he wanted to work with theRambostar in a proper project where he gets a decent amount of screen time along withSylvester Stallone.

“…this morning I did hear – the office called – Sly [Stallone] wants me for Expendables 4. I said, ‘Okay.’ Because they already asked me to be in two and three, but I refused. Well, I didn’t refuse, but I said, ‘Sly, can’t we just do you and me? Not just a bunch of people and me only coming out for five minutes.’ Because then the audience is, ‘Oh!’ And then I’m gone.”

While Stallone and Chan were supposed to work on a film together calledSnafu, the COVID-19 pandemic led to theCreedstar’s exit, and John Cena ultimately grabbed Stallone’s role. However, Chan has made it clear that he does have an interest in working with Stallone if he ever encountered a decent opportunity.
