Recently he sparked anger amongst fans as he tweeted aboutHenry Cavill’sSuperman still existing. He replied to a fan who tweeted about missing Henry Cavill by saying,“He still exists”.

Did James Gunn Fire Henry Cavill?
Warner Bros is currently restructuring its business and its top priority remains DC studios. Its current focus is on giving out quality blockbusters. That’s the reason many potential films likeBatgirlwere scrapped. After the exit of Walter Hamda, former President of DCEU studios, nowJames Gunnand Peter Safran have taken over the lead. TheGuardians of the Galaxydirector has already announcedChapter 1: Gods and Monstersin a recent special presentation.

The slate also includes aSuperman: Legacymovie, but Henry Cavill won’t be a part of it. Gunn looks forward to bringing in a young Superman for this movie. According to him, Henry Cavill’s return was only limited to aBlack Adamcameo and he never got cast by him. Gunn claims he never fired Henry Cavill and many assumptions are being made on the topic.
“A lot of people made assumptions that weren’t true, but for me, it’s about who do I want to cast as Superman and who do the filmmakers want to cast. For me, for this story, it isn’t Henry. I like Henry. He’s a great guy. I think he’s gotten dicked around by a lot of people, including former regimes of this company. But this Superman isn’t Henry for a number of reasons.”
But, certainly, the chances of the FormerThe Witcheractor returning to the DCEU are quite less. It would be great to see who else will be cast as the new Superman in the new film which will make its debut in 2025.
