John Boyega Was Unhappy With His Character inStar Wars

Following the success of theStar Warsfilms,John Boyegawho played Finn in both installments gained recognition for his performance. While the franchise may have made Boyega a star, the actor confessed in not-so-subtle ways that he felt the films treated him and his character unfairly. Boyega made serious claims that race was a defining factor in sidelining him and his character.

“You get yourself involved in projects and you’re not necessarily going to like everything. what I would say to Disney is do not bring out a Black character, market them to be much more important in the franchise than they are and then have them pushed to the side. It’s not good. I’ll say it straight up.”

Will John Boyega Make A Comeback in the 2025Star WarsMovie?

It is obvious that there has been bad blood between John Boyega and theStar Warsfranchise with the British actor stating that his role as Finn was not given the same importance as the other character arcs. With Boyega bringing color and race to the fore as additional reasons, his relationship with the franchise seemed to be permanently damaged.

But according to recent reports, there might be a reconciliation between the Finn actor and Lucasfilms head Kathleen Kennedy in an effort to bring Boyega back for the 2025Star Warsfilm. Both Kennedy and Boyega have reportedly buried the hatchet and found a mid-ground according to John Rocha, who revealed these details in theHot Mic Podcast. This means Boyega’s reformed stormtrooper will be sharing screen space once more with Daisy Ridley’s Rey.
