Joyboy’s True Race Revealed inOne Piece

The latest chapters’ revelation of Kuma’s terrible background, as well as the heritage and persecution of the strange species he belongs to, the Buccaneers, maybe the final thread fans need to weave together to comprehend Joyboy’s identity. Buccaneers are a virtually extinct race of humanoids that are taller than regular humans but shorter than giants.

The manga’s Chapter 1096 reveals that, in addition to the heinous act they were alleged to have committed, the Buccaneer race may have been wiped off because they shared Nika’s rebellious ideology of equality and freedom.

Joyboy’s Straw hat

Joyboy was almost certainly a Buccaneer, which could help to explain the heinous atrocity performed by the Buccaneers mentioned by Saint Saturn. Many theories support the assumption that Joyboy was a Buccaneer answering one of the biggest mysteries of the series. These theories may not be revealed yet in the story, but when connecting them they make a pretty good argument and hence prove Joyboy to be a Buccaneerian.

Joyboy Belonged to the Buccaneer Race

The dreadful fate of the Buccaneers has been predetermined by history, as Saturn stated in Chapter 1096. If history is written by the World Government, one can believe the Buccaneers once sided with Joyboy, which ended in racial genocide of the Buccaneers since the Government worried the race creating a new Joyboy, considering the narrative of Nika was handed down among them.

Another notion that Joyboy belonged to the Buccaneer race is the huge straw hat that was observed at Marijoa. While the massive size of the hat led admirers to believe Joyboy was a giant, the straw hat appeared to be too little for the giants, suggesting it would better fit a Buccaneer instead.
