Kento Nanami’s Anger Raged Against Haruta
Most 9 to 5 sorcerers don’t go the extra mile for their job. But for Kento Nanami, it’s more than just work. He may act uninterested, but deep down, he cares about helping others as much as Itadori.
When he saw his friend nearly dead with coworkers lying around, something in him snapped. It was his repressed anger, a stark contrast to someone like Haruta, who’s more carefree and even welcomes death.

Haruta has a mysterious ability to endure attacks, and he finds joy in chaos, even when getting hurt. Nanami and Haruta represent different ways of dealing with death in the world ofJujutsu Kaisen. In this situation, Nanami lost his patience and let his anger out through punches, but whether it was the right thing to do is another question.

Two Sides of the Same Coin
InJujutsu Kaisen, character differences aren’t necessarily linked to being good or evil. It’s debated whether sorcerers are good or bad for society. Most characters exist in a gray area, except maybe Mahito. That’s why in episode 36, Mei and Ui embrace death, while the curse user they faced, who’s supposed to be evil, begs for his life.
In this episode ofJujutsu Kaisen, Suguru Geto is the closest to understanding how Nanami feels. Others like Riko, the village, and Jujutsu High friends can’t compare. Mei only sees people as tools for her purposes, similar to how Mahito and Pseudo-Geto view things.
Jujutsu Kaisenis about death, and it’s not a simple good vs. evil story. Each character has their own motives and conclusions. It’s a dark fantasy with no easy solutions or perfect happy endings. It’s a story of either overcoming pain or succumbing to it, with a wide range of possibilities in between.
