Hollywood star Will Smith may be a master of acting but romantic relationships are not his cup of tea. The actor once revealed that he got the worst, yet effective, dating advice from his friend when he was young, in fact, he implemented the advice during the 94th Academy Awards when he slapped comedian Chris Rock.
Smith went up to the stage and slapped Rock for making a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head, which she had been shaving since 2021 due to a condition called alopecia areata. Smith was once told that “knocking somebody out” is the best way to impress women, but in this case, Smith couldn’t impress his wife as they have been separated since 2016.

Will Smith talked about the worst dating advice he has ever received
In 2014, actorWill Smithappeared in an interview withBBCand told host Stella Papamichael about the worst dating advice he has ever received,
“It was from a friend of mine – his name is Charlie Mack. He’s like my ghetto co-ordinator from back in Philly and he said, ‘No, no, no! Whatcha gotta understand man, is that women want a dude that can do anything, so what you wanna do is make ’em laugh. If you wanna make ’em laugh and then they need to see you, like, knock somebody the f*** out!” He says, ‘Generally on first dates that’s what I do, you know? Going the whole night it’s funny, funny, funny, then I just go outside and just knock somebody the f*** out ’cause they need to feel safe! Women need to feel safe when they with you.’ And I’m like, ‘Cool…’ But listen. It works. I mean it’s the worst most horrible advice I’ve ever heard, but when women see him knock somebody out they do really say, ‘Ooh, Charlie!'”
The actor seemed to have implemented this advice to fix his rocky relationship with actressJada Pinkett Smithas the actor slapped comedian Chris Rock on stage during the 94th Academy Awards in 2022. Rock made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head. The actress has to shave her head because of a condition known as alopecia areata.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith have been separated since 2016
Recently, Jada Pinkett Smith appeared for an interview with NBC’sTodayand revealed that she and Will Smith have been separated since 2016. The actress said,
“Why it fractured, that’s a lot of things. I think by the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.”
Despite the setbacks, the two still haven’t gotten divorced because they have been trying to fix the issues in their marriage. In the past 26 years, the two have witnessed ups and downs in their marriage, especially in the late 2010s as Pinket Smith admitted in an episode of Red Table Talk that she had an “entanglement” with singer August Alsina while she was separated from Smith.
