Actress Margot Robbie is fresh off the humungous success ofBarbie,which co-starred Ryan Gosling and was directed by Greta Gerwig. The film earned over a billion dollars at the box office, became the highest-grossing film of 2023, and even became the highest-grossing film ever by a solo female director.

The golden pair of Gosling and Robbie are rumored to return in a newOceans 11film which would serve as a prequel to the legendary George Clooney starrer. Directed by Jay Roach, the film is reportedly set in the 1960s. When asked if he liked the casting choices, George Clooney gave his wholehearted approval.

Margot Robbie Is All Set To Star In A NewOceans 11Prequel
After the momentous success ofBarbie, lead actressMargot Robbiehas her eyes set on the Steven Soderbergh-directed George Clooney starrerOceans 11franchise. The film series was a remake of the iconic film of the same name of the 1960s which starred Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack.
Robbie is all set to appear and produce in a prequel set in the 1960s in Europe. Directed by Jay Roach, who collaborates with Margot Robbie again afterBombshell, the prequel is also rumored to star Ryan Gosling. If his casting is confirmed, it would be the second time Gosling and Robbie would have featured together after this year’sBarbie.

The casting was all but confirmed by Robbie’s producing partner at Lucky Chap Entertainment Josey McNamara. According toDeadline, McNamara hinted at Gosling’s involvement in the film and the stage at which the film was being developed.

“They’re wonderful together. The more projects even outside of that we can have them do would be amazing…I can’t really say much but I think we’re just trying to do right by the franchise. I’m excited for people to experience it when it’s ready.”
The film is reportedly in active development andA Family Affairwriter Carrie Solomon is penning the screenplay.

George Clooney Approves Margot Robbie’s Casting InOceansPrequel
The UntitledOceans 11prequel is the fifth film in the franchise that was created by Steven Soderbergh in 2001. The film starred an ensemble cast of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Julia Roberts, and Andy Garcia, among others. The film was successful and spawned two more sequels which starred the OG troupe.
In 2018, a spinoff titledOceans 8, which had an all-female cast led by Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway, and Cate Blanchett was released. The film was acclaimed by critics and earned over $298 million worldwide. Bullock played the role of Clooney’s sister, Debbie Ocean in the spinoff film.
The prequel is set to feature Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Daniel Ocean’s parents. Clooney, who plays Ocean, in the original trilogy recently mentioned that he approved of the casting. Talking toVarietyat the premiere of his directorialThe Boys in the Boat,
