Masashi Kishimoto was the creator ofNaruto. The story revolves around an orphan boy Naruto Uzumaki who was ostracised by the people of the Hidden Leaf Village for having a tailed beast sealed inside him. Naruto decides to get recognised by everyone by becoming the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village, and the story traces his journey to becoming the head of his village.

Specific villages have techniques unique to them, and there are jutsu focused on each element present in the world. These are categorised in ranks (i.e., A, B, C, D). Among a plethora of techniques lies an E-ranked jutsu which is capable of defying death.

What Jutsu did Kishimoto got rid of fromNaruto?

Masashi Kishimotois an excellent narrator, but even the genius creator ofNarutomade a colossal mistake. One of the first jutsu introduced in the series was the substitution jutsu. Albeit, throughout the series, fans must have forgotten about that E-ranked jutsu since more and more overpowered jutsu kept coming along. Despite being an E-ranked, this jutsu can be spammed continuously in a fight, making it very overpowered.

What is the Substitution Jutsu inNaruto?

Substitution jutsu was first shown inNarutobyKakashi Hatake. In the early episodes, it was the go-to technique that the Copy Ninja could be seen using in every other fight. The technique was explained by Sasuke during the bell test. The substitution jutsu could be used when a Ninja is under serious threat. This technique allows a ninja to altercate their body with a block of wood or some other object before the attack can land on them. From an illusional perspective, the ninja perceives their attack as successful, but it just buys enough time for the target to get away or counter their next attack to catch the attacker off-guard.

What made Kishimoto delete the E-rank Jutsu from Shippuden entirely?

Substitution jutsu is a rather helpful technique despite being an E-ranked. Ninjas can learn this before joining the Ninja Academy to become a Shinobi. Being such a low-ranked jutsu, it is relatively easy to use. Kishimoto realised how he introduced a seemingly innocent technique early in the series as an “E rank” when in battle; it’s a massively overpowered move. This jutsu defeats the purpose of any fight, as the user can always escape death or defeat by using it. On top of that, this move can be used continuously without the user having their chakra depleted.

Despite granting the ability to defy death, many Ninjas didn’t seem to use this simple move and either got defeated or gravely injured in the fight. This left the fans pondering why these trained Ninjas couldn’t use an E-ranked jutsu.

In the end, Kishimoto realised how this move was a cheat code in the ninja world and slowly got rid of it to make fights more fair and logical from a power scaling aspect.
