When the dating rumors between the two actors went out of hand, theBird Boxactress decided to put an end to it. During an exclusive interview with Esquire,Sandra Bullockstarted her interview with a“Nope,” when asked if she dated Keanu Reeves. The actress stated that theKnock Knockactor would be a great companion to every woman he has ever dated, and none of them has anything“horrible to say about him.”
“But who knows?” she said. “Keanu’s a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he’s ever dated. I don’t think there’s anyone who has something horrible to say about him. So maybe we could have survived. I don’t know.”
The actress continued, though neither of them“have to survive anything,”as they grew fond of each other as friends, and she was in awe with Keanu Reeves.
“But we didn’t have to survive anything. We just get to grow up together on parallel roads and tip our hats and meet for a dinner and try to work together. And the longer time goes on, the more in awe I am of the human being. Would I have been able to say that if he had dumped me and made me angry? Probably not.”
While the two actors never dated, they were typical friends, where Reeves was the quiet one and Bullock was the talkative one. But how did they become friends?

Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves’ First Meeting
The friendship between the two actors began when they first met on the set ofSpeed,the 1994 action thriller movie. In the same interview with Esquire, the actress called Keanu Reeves a“listener,”she gave an instance from 1995, where she was good friends with the actor. The actress chatted to the Reeves on a plethora of topics, and during their conversation, she mentioned how she never had Champagne and truffles.
A few days later,The Matrix actor pulled up at her address with flowers, Champagne, and truffles. She recalled him saying,“‘I just thought you might want to try Champagne and truffles, to see what it’s like.’”They had the bubbly drink, and truffles, painted his nails, like hers and then the actor left for a date.
The actress said that such small gestures“drives you crazy.”She continued that at the beginning, Reeves would stay with her as long as she could fill the uncomfortable silence. But he would listen to everything that Sandra Bullock said, then he would come up with a note as his response.
“That’s what I mean that it drives you crazy. When I first met him, I would spend as much time as I could filling a silence, just to feel comfortable. And the more I jibber-jabbered on, the quieter he would get. And I thought, I don’t understand what’s happening! He’s looking at me with eyes of confusion. He’s quiet.”
“Did I say something to offend him? And then a day or two later, he would arrive with a note or a little package, saying, ‘I thought about what you said.’ And he would have his response. How many people do you know like that?”
Even though Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves never dated, they would have been one of the most adorable couples in Hollywood. And while their on-screen chemistry was absolutely on-point, fans would be a little disappointed learning they were never in a romantic relationship.
