Sir Michael Caine didn’t think twice before jumping straight to Christian Bale’s rescue after his infamous rant went viral. The Oscar-winning actor co-starred with Bale in the famousDark Knighttrilogy and vouched for him publicly. In a chat with Craig Ferguson, the Alfred Pennyworth fame stated that what Bale did is nothing compared to what he used to do on the set out of temper.

What did Michael Caine say in Christian Bale’s defense?
Christian Balewas embroiled in a bad controversy after a recording of him ranting on the set ofTerminator Salvationwas exposed. TheAmsterdamstar found himself under widespread criticism for his behavior toward the cinematographer Shane Hurlbut. While several stars had their different opinions on the matter, Michael Caine dived right in his defense.
During a conversation with Craig Ferguson in an episode ofThe Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Caine didn’t hesitate to admit that he had even more temper than Bale. The audience was amused when the star said-“What Christian did was quite pale to what I would do sometimes.”

SirMichael Caineadded that he used to rant for as long as an hour on the set. But he never had to face any public criticism as it never came out. Terminator Salvationwas one of the few worst films that was opted by Christian Bale. The actor has primarily been a part of some of the greatest films to date. However, he took a major risk when he tried to prove the people wrong by takingTerminator Salvationdespite everyone’s warning.
The movie ended up being a disappointment with a very mixed to negative reception surrounding it. On top of that, it also became a great bad memory for Christian Bale whose meltdown from the set was exposed. After cinematographer Shane Hurlbut interrupted one of his sequences twice to check the light, Bale went ballistic and hurled slurs at him.

Nonetheless,The Dark Knightlead came forward to take responsibility for his actions and apologized (viaThe Guardian)-“I was out of order beyond belief. I make no excuses for it. There is nobody who has heard that tape who has been hit harder than me.”
Christian Bale and Shane Hurlbut never worked together again on any project following the 2009 sci-fi flick. The movie also proved to be a forgettable venture and the only takeaway from the movie was this highly infamous incident of Bale.
