One of the biggest reasons fans were constantly captivated by the superhit mangaMy Hero Academiawas the potential romance between two major characters: Izuku Midoriya aka Deku and Ochako Uraraka. However, as the story advanced, it conspicuously moved away from the pair’s love story,—something that was initially one of the major plotlines of the story—slowly ceasing all the cute interactions between them as well.

However, fans’ frustration over the same finally came to an end when in chapter #394 of the manga, Uraraka confessed and admitted to her feelings toward Deku, making the fan-favorite couple canon!

For the fans who had been long waiting for it to happen,My Hero Academiahas finally confirmed the potential romance between Ochaka Uraraka and Deku in chapter #394 titledOchako Uraraka vs. Himiko Toga—even though it was confirmed only one-sidedly by Uraraka.

As mentioned in the chapter, while telling her life story to Himiko Toga during their confrontation to get through to her and stop her from creating further clones and destroying herself, Uraraka finally gets to the part where she admits that she fell in love with Deku, saying (viaMy Hero Academia):
“And then I fell in love with Izuku Midoriya [aka Deku]…”

To further understand the concept behind the situation they were in: Since Toga had become one of the most dangerous villains in the final war, the pressure on Uraraka to rein her back in was enormous, and thus, she decided to address the very thing that connected her to Toga: their shared love for Izuku Midoriya aka Deku.
At the same time, this confession is very new for the fans who have been sticking to the updates since the start of the manga. They are well aware of the previous chapters where the manga not only brought forward quite some cute interactions between the pair but also teased romance between them without truly delivering in some scenes.

However, the becoming canon of the fan-favorite couple wasn’t the only highlight ofMy Hero Academiachapter #394—one other major confession from Ochako Uraraka to Himiko Toga also awaited further in the chapter.

My Hero AcademiaChapter #394 Had Another Big Confession
Jumping further intoMy Hero Academiachapter #394, Ochako Uraraka was then shown hugging Himiko Toga despite her growing wound. During this, she also made one confession to Toga while admitting to the league being irreplaceable. This confession was none other than her saying:
“I had to tell you that you have a beautiful smile.”
A bit of back context here: in one of the previous chapters, Himiko Toga was confirmed to be attracted to both boys and girls, after which came her honest confession that she admired Ochako Uraraka.
Coming back to the chapter: Hearing her confession, with tears in her eyes, Toga proceeded to confirm from Uraraka if she really thought her to be cute. Answering her, Uraraka said:
“The cutest girl in the world.”
In the comics, all that Toga ever wanted was to be accepted by the people around her the way she was with the smile that she had. However, her wish was never granted except by the League of Villains, which was also why she joined the league in the first place.
Thus, even though she seemingly moved on from her obsession with Uraraka later on, it is worth noting that Himiko Toga also falls in love very easily. This was why Uraraka’s confession could actually get through to her and save her as the clones completely disappeared with Uraraka’s last statement.
