If there is one aspect in which the Xbox Controller undeniably excels, it is the variety of options that come along with it. Ever since the Xbox Series X/S consoles were launched, Microsoft has constantly given their controllers amazing and diverse color options, ensuring that everyone in the Xbox community finds just the right aesthetic fit while gaming.

Microsoft goes royal with the newly introduced Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller.

Some might argue that the Xbox Series X/S controllers are visually not that different from their Xbox One ancestors, but their new shape and the highly convenient share button proved to be great upgrades.

And now, the Xbox Controller is available to preorder in an absolutely stunning Gold Shadow Special Edition to turn any gaming session into pure royalty.

The Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller will be released on October 17.

Microsoft Introduces Yet Another Fantastic Xbox Controller

With the newly announced Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller, Microsoft is clearly aiming to set the bar to a whole new level for the competition. The new controller is without a doubt one of the most appealing variants that Xbox has ever had, as it takes a much classier and royal route with its overall look. It may just be the color, but the design feels extremely elegant and fancy, making it a much-awaited item to acquire when it finally releases later this month, on October 17.

The new Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller is reminiscent of the Gold Chrome controller that was launched for the Xbox 360 years ago. However, it seems like a genuine upgrade from that initial design because it was a little too easy to get dust and fingerprint stains on the Xbox 360 controller.

This time around, Microsoft is keeping things a bit more matte and subtle, and it is even more impressive because the golden color can easily feel too overpowering or flashy if not handled correctly.

The best part is that fans of Microsoft’s console can already preorder the new Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller from different online platforms. These obviously include Microsoft’sofficial digital store, along with major retailers likeBest Buy. The controller does not only focus on the gold, though, as it perfectly incorporates carbon black to give off a shadowy feel, which ultimately makes other features, such as the metallic gold D-pad, pop out wonderfully.

Microsoft Calls Its New Xbox Controller a Statement Piece

The Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller simultaneously feels fresh and stays true to the original Xbox Series X/S controller design. Fortunately, aside from the delightful new color combination, there are not any drastic changes from the conventional Xbox controllers because they really were not necessary.

It still follows the basic layout that Xbox fans have come to love over the years, all packed with the textured trigger buttons, the exact same placement for the face buttons, and the iconic rubberized grips at the back.

In fact, Microsoft called its newly revealed Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller a “statement piece” and “crowning gem of any collection,” claiming that it will definitely become one of the most “favorite” Xbox controllers. Similar to all the other variants, the upcoming controller will also be compatible with the Xbox One, mobile devices, and PC and cost $69.99.

What is even crazier is that the options keep increasing because this is not even the only special edition controller that Microsoft has shared with Xbox fans this year.

The Xbox controller has gotten numerous variants throughout 2023, ranging from the aforementionedStarfieldandTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtleseditions to the Stormcloud Vapor and Sunkissed Vibes ones. According to Microsoft, the Gold Shadow Special Edition Xbox Controller pays “homage to Xbox One’s fan-favourite Shadow series designs” with its “sophisticated gold-to-black metallic finish on the top case.”

Additionally, the “metallic gold hybrid D-Pad” aims to ensure that players’ thumbs smoothly and effortlessly glide on it.
