It’s no surprise to witness HBO’sThe Last of Usdo exceptionally well as it bags more and more viewers from all over the world. And one would expect nothing less from a show that had 4.7 million viewers hooked onto their screens on the very first day of its release. Its immediate popularity even encouraged the network to renew it for a second season.

However, whileThe Last of Usdid get the green light for a new season in January itself, the lead stars of the series don’t seem to be too sure about its future in the long run.

Despite such overwhelmingly positive reviews and the fast-paced progress of the show,Pedro Pascalstill seems to be unwilling to get his hopes high with regard to the series’ future. “None of us wanna think about that,”the 47-year-old actor who stars as Joel inThe Last of Usremarked.“We had such a great time and it’s such a rare experience where you get to bond to this degree.”
Bella Ramsey Doesn’t ExpectThe Last of Usto Have Too Many Seasons
Bella Ramsey, who stars beside Pascal in the show, also holds a similar belief to that of the latter when it comes to the long run. And the English actress seems to be awfully sure aboutThe Last of Usbeing nowhere near as lengthy asGame of Thrones.
“I don’t think it’s gonna be as long as Game of Thrones,”Ramsey commented. Coming from the 19-year-old who earned immense recognition for her breakout role inGOT, Ramsey isn’t completely wrong for thinking that. Especially since the epic fiasco that took place with regard toGOT‘s dismaying ending.

After dragging the show for eight long seasons,Game of Thronesdelivered a wholly unsatisfying series finale, rendering the entire fandom in a state of devastation and disappointment. Keeping the same in mind, it’s only fair if the creators and showrunners ofThe Last of Usdecide to bring production to a halt after 2 or 3 seasons. After all, fans would rather see the show come to an end after a good run for just a couple of seasons than have it fall apart right toward the end after 10 seasons or so.

The Last of Uscan be streamed on HBO Max.
