Do Devil Fruits Have the Power to Cure Terrible Diseases inOne Piece?

Now, let’s get to the good part. Trafalgar Law and Jewelry Bonney are two characters that have been shown to have incurable diseases in the past. Law suffered from the Amber Lead disease, while Bonney had the Sapphire Scale disease.

Despite the two diseases being introduced as incurable, both characters have outlived their life expectancy. But what’s the common root between the two cases? Well, a fan (sashi-ya) on Tumblr recently posted an interesting theory about the same.

Trafalgar Law in One Piece

What if, and this is purely based on how Oda has been working with the concept of racism throughout the years in the universe of op, from the Gyojin race to Buccaneers, Tenryuubitos named Devil Fruits because of they were consumed by “Impure celestial dragons” to get rid of the shameful disease?

In the post, the fan speculated if the Tenryuubito (Celestial Dragons) are different from humans. Moreover, they are simply not allowed to mix their blood with humans.

After all, Ginny only developed the Sapphire Scale disease after she met Bartholomew Kuma. While Ginny couldn’t be saved from the disease, Bonney did survive. The only thing that she did differently from her mother was consume the Toshi Toshi no Mi Devil Fruit.

The Devil Fruit allows Bonney to manipulate the ages of people around her. If used correctly, it’s an overpowered Devil Fruit. Keeping that in mind, it’s no surprise that Bonney found herself among the Worst Generation.

Trafalgar Law’s Disease was Cured After Consuming a Devil Fruit inOne Piece

When Law was just a kid, he developed the brutal Amber Lead disease. As revealed in his backstory, Law wouldn’t have survived if it weren’t for Corazon’s (Donquixote Rosinante) sacrifice.

Cora sacrificed his life to find the Ope Ope no Mi Devil Fruit. After consuming the Devil Fruit, Law became the surgeon of death. The primary power of his fruit is creating a room where he can manipulate the fabric of space.

Anyway, after eating the fruit, Law’s disease was cured. It once again proves the theory by the fan that Devil Fruits may hold the key to curing diseases for regular people.
