Samsung Galaxy A16 5G Global Version Appears With a Different Chipset
Samsung is preparing multiple models of the Galaxy A16 5G smartphone to release in different markets. The Galaxy A16 5G phone with model number SM-A166E with Exynos 1380 made an appearance at Geekbench, an online benchmark database. That’s presumed to be a global version set to launch in the coming months.
As part of the Galaxy A-series, the upcoming Galaxy A16 5G succeeds the Galaxy A15 model. Surprisingly, the new A16 will have two different models. The SM-A166E is a global version with Korean giant’s own Exynos 1380 chipset for the mid-range phones. That chipset already exists in the A-series lineup – Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A35.
As per the Geekbench listing of that Galaxy A16 SM-A166E, it will sport Android 14 with One UI 6.x on top of it and will have 4GB of RAM. But you can expect the same phone in 6GB or 8GB RAM variants as well. Earlier this month, another Galaxy A16 phone wasspotted at Geekbench with SM-A166Pmodel number and a totally different MediaTek Dimensity 6300 System-on-Chip on it. Apparently, that’s the US version of A16 phone meant for the Sprint carrier and will available with 6GB and 8GB of RAM options.
Besides the Exynos chipset, the Galaxy A16 5G global version will shine with a trio of camera setup – 50-megapixel main camera, 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front will be a 13-megapixel selfie camera. Also, it’s expect to house a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.
We expect to see the Samsung Galaxy A16 models to arrive between October and December this year.
