John Wickstar Lance Reddick passed away at age 60 on Friday as confirmed by his representative. The actor reportedly died of natural causes, and Hollywood is mourning the loss of a great artist. Known for his roles in television, such asThe Wire,Fringe,Bosch, andLost, Reddick’s lengthy career and numerous projects in show business proved his artistic legacy.
The multi-talented actor began his career in the 90s, and growing up in Baltimore, he aspired to be a musician. Eventually, he fell into acting as a means to support his family, and to maintain his linkage to the music industry.

Lance Reddick’s passing has left a terrible dent in everyone’s hearts, especially his friends in the industry. In a joint statement viaTHR,John Wick’s Chad Stahelski, and Keanu Reeves said:
“We are deeply saddened and heartbroken at the loss of our beloved friend and colleague Lance Reddick. He was the consummate professional and a joy to work with. Our love and prayers are with his wife Stephanie, his children, family, and friends. We dedicate the film to his loving memory.”
Stephanie Reddick, the late actor’s wife,sharedon social media a carousel of photos remembering her husband, with the caption:
“Lance was taken from us far too soon. Thank you for all your overwhelming love, support, and beautiful stories shared on these platforms over the last day. I see your messages and can’t begin to express how grateful I am to have them.”
Aside from acting and music, Reddick also served as the voice behind franchises such asThe Vindicators,DuckTales,Rick and Morty, andCastlevania. He also voiced Commander Zavala in theDestinygame. His wife also acknowledged the tributeDestinygamers paid to Reddick:
“To the thousands of Destiny players who played in special tribute to Lance, thank you. Lance loved you as much as he loved the game.”
Stephanie Reddick also encouraged the public to make donations in the actor’s name tomomcares.org, a non-profit organization catering to mothers in Baltimore, his hometown.

Lance Reddick’s friends in show business expressed their grief and shock at the actor’s passing. The outpour of love and sympathy flowed on social media, praising the actor and paying tribute to his contributions to the industry.
Wendall Pierce, his co-star inThe Wire, called Reddick “a man of great strength and grace.” He also added:
“As talented a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of class. A sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend. You made your mark here. RIP.”
Ian McShane, his co-star inJohn Wick, expressed his disbelief about the tragic news.
“Total shock and disbelief. Lance was a wonderful human being and a wonderful colleague. My deepest condolences, peace, and love to his wife, Stephanie, and all his family.”
An HBO spokesperson also acknowledged Reddick in a statement, saying the actor has been a part of the network for over 20 years starring in several remarkable roles. They also noted that the actor is held in the highest regard and he will be deeply missed by everyone.
Reddick is survived by his wife, Stephanie, and children, Yvonne Nicole, and Christopher.
