The MCU is on its way to the big climactic end of the ‘Multiverse Saga’ with theAvengers: Kang DynastyandAvengers: Secret Warsfilms. The films would potentially see more of the superheroes and characters set up in the last fifteen years in the MCU including the original Avengers as well as the new Avengers.

Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky

With most of the original Avengers either retired, off-world, or dead, the MCU is setting up the new Avengers to fill their shoes and tackle the big threat to the multiverse, which is Kang the Conquerer. One entrant into the Avengers fold would be Tim Roth’s Emil Blonsky a.k.a Abomination.

Emil Blonsky almost joined the Avengers

Emil Blonsky’s History With The Avengers

Emil Blonsky was a former Marine who was first seen in the early MCU filmThe Incredible Hulk. The soldier tackles Bruce Banner’s Hulk and captures him to be imprisoned in General Thaddeus Ross’ facility, but the Hulk escapes. Blonsky volunteers to be a test subject for the super serum to capture the Hulk.

Blonsky becomes the Abomination after he mixes the super serum with the same Gamma radiation that turned Banner into the Hulk. Abomination and the Hulk have a huge battle in New York, at the end of which the former is defeated. While Hulk is on the run, Emil Blonksy is sent to prison.

Blonsky almost joins the Avengers in the Marvel one-shot short filmThe Consultant. The film shows Agent Coulson and Sitwell trying to stop S.H.I.E.L.D. from recruiting Blonsky instead of Banner. They send Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark to annoy General Ross into not releasing Blonsky to S.H.I.E.L.D., eventually leading them to Bruce Banner.

Tim Roth, who plays Emil Blonsky, reprised his roles after years in the recent filmShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. He then made another appearance in the Disney Plus seriesShe-Hulk: Attorney At Law. Blonsky had a more prominent role in the series and many speculate that he would be a huge part of the saga.

Why Would Emil Blonsky Be Perfect For The Avengers?

The stakes inAvengers: Kang DynastyandAvengers: Secret Warsare bigger than ever with the good side needing every powerful being to defeat the oncoming antagonist, Kang the Conqueror. The last time this Kang variant was close to winning, he was only defeated by He Who Remains, who is now dead and replaced by Loki.

Hence, at such a time, having a hero as powerful and noble as Emil Blonsky is an asset. What is better than one Hulk, is three Hulks, with Bruce Banner, Jessica Walters, and Blonsky joining to take down Kang. Moreover, Blonsky was anyways in consideration by S.H.I.E.L.D. and was only thwarted by Tony Stark and Agent Coulson.

Now that they are out of the picture and the situation needs all hands on deck, the Abomination is a valuable member of the team and can be a huge threat to the antagonist of the multiverse saga. With the MCU giving him repeated appearances, they may be planning on including him in the new Avengers team.
