Mark Wahlberg Blamed the Studios for Flops

Speaking with theLos Angeles Times, Mark Wahlberg stated that he understands why Johnny Depp and the team complained about the press attacks on Gore Verbinski’s movie. Beginning his explanation by stating that there’s too much scrutiny on movies, these days, Wahlberg claimed,

“First and foremost, the media is targeting all these movies. There’s intense scrutiny on us, way more than before.”

Thereafter, the actor swiftly shifted the blame towards studios for spending unnecessary amounts on trivial things, rather than important elements. Focusing more on budget than storyline,Mark Wahlbergstated that it’s the Studio’s responsibility to oversee such things. But instead, they only focus on unnecessary expenses.

“They are spending so much money to pull the wool over the audience’s eyes with these effects-driven movies. It’s not like ‘Jurassic Park,’ where you saw something groundbreaking and innovative and said ‘Holy … I gotta see that. Every end-of-the-Earth movie kind of feels the same.”

Never taking the responsibility for flops on himself, Mark Wahlberg explained why he blames studios instead of actors for such major failures.
