As per a recent interview,Dolittle, which was written and directed by Stephen Gaghan and was based on the second Doctor Dolittle novel by Hugh Lofting, was one of the most important movies Robert Downey Jr. had worked on in the past twenty years. The 2020 movie received poor reviews and only has a 15% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Avengers: Age of Ultron

Downey gives a convincing justification for why he picked this one as more important than some of his highly discussed movies. The infamous 2020 disaster was the first film he made after Tony Stark died inAvengers: Endgame, and it marked his first appearance other than Tony Stark sinceThe Judgein 2014.

“Dolittle was a two-and-a-half-year wound of squandered opportunity,” the actor added. “The stress it put on my missus as she rolled her sleeves up to her armpits to make it even serviceable enough to bring to market was shocking.”
