Veteran actor Tom Hanks has had a plethora of movies to his name. From several Oscar-worthy performances to movies that failed at the box office, the actor has experienced most of the Hollywood industry.

What the actor has not experienced is being a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While actors of his age and stature diss the MCU for not being“peak cinema”,Hanks revealed that he’d love to be a part of the MCU if offered the chance.
Tom Hanks Would Love To Be A Part of The MCU
Veteran directors Martin Scorsese and James Cameron announced war when they stated that actors working in the MCU weren’t real actors. Referring to the usage of CGI and a cinematic universe that seems complex, several of the elites of Hollywood joined forces against Marvel.

Tom Hanks, being one of the elites, refused to join his friends as he went on to hail the Marvel Cinematic Universe as one of the finest. While in theHappy Sad ConfusedPodcast, theCaptain Phillipsactor was asked whether Marvel Studios had ever approached him for a role in the MCU. Tom Hanks’s answer was quite shocking for people to hear.
“No, not to my knowledge have they. I do not know. you’re able to maybe say that the John Ford universe of Westerns is not that different, perhaps, than the Marvel universe of motion pictures. If it’s a bodacious John Ford Western, would you do it? You might do that.”

From his statements, it was evident that the actor would love to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe if given the chance. What’s different from the other veteran actors is thatTom Hanksactually praised the MCU for being great.

Martic Scorsese and James Cameron agreed that the MCU cannot be considered cinema. With many veteran actors and directors supporting the statement, an all-out war was declared between the veterans and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

What’s different about Tom Hanks is that the actor actually liked the MCU for what it is and stated that there are indeed some great performances in it.
“Look, I haven’t seen [every MCU movie]. I’ll give you that right now, but the ones I’ve seen I’ve never come away from [them] without thinking, ‘There are a couple of great performances in there. Man, those people really gave their all.'”
Although theAngels & Demonsactor hasn’t been offered a role yet, it seems that Hanks may soon get an opportunity to star in the MCU much like Harrison Ford.
