In an interview on YouTube, the interviewer askedJames Cameronabout his opinion onStar Wars: The Force Awakens, the seventh film of the Star Wars franchise. James Cameron didn’t want to comment on the film and went on to elaborate his statement, by labelling the first six films as more creative compared to the seventh film. Here’s what James Cameron said about the first six films of the Star Wars franchise:

“I don’t want to say too much about the film, because I also have a lot of respect for J.J. Abrams. I have to say that I felt that George’s group of six films had more innovative visual imagination. This film was more of a retrenchment to things you had seen before and characters you had seen before and it took a few baby steps forward with new characters. See where they go with it [Episode 8].”

The fans of the franchise would agree with what James Cameron said about the seventh instalment of the film, as he pointed out the major flaws of the film which hurt the popularity of the franchise.
