Jeremy Renner seems to have more in common with Hawkeye than one might think. The Avengers alum has a secret skill that is a hit at parties but might be a nightmare for those competing with him. Renner can prove to be quite the nightmare at a bowling match.

OnThe Howard Stern Radio Show, theAvengers:Endgameactor talked about his early introduction to bowling, and how it has affected the party scene in his life. On the show, Renner also discussed his possible future in the world of bowling, and how competing changed him.

Jeremy Renner started bowling when he was three years old
Rennerwas introduced to bowling at the tender age of 3 years old. The actor’s parents, grandparents, and extended family were part of a bowling center, and a part of it rubbed off on the Renner. With an average score of 225, Renner is extremely proud of his achievements, competing with 35-year-olds by the time he was 12. TheThoralum never went pro, staying in tournaments before quitting at the age of 12.
Renner was keen on mentioning the toll his bowling career took on his mental health:

“you’re able to only compete with yourself and when you are 12 years old, your emotional intelligence is very low, and I am bowling against, you know, 35 year olds, that are pro-bowlers,”
Allegedly, the entire affair put the actor in therapy, as he revealed on the show:

“Thats why I cannot do it, the game almost put me in therapy!”
When you are bowling, the actor mentioned, you have to compete with your score, making it a competitive and often self-critical sport that can put people in a bad space, mentally. Renner seems to have gone through that place, quitting bowling soon after.

Jeremy Renner might take up bowling again
Renner has had an extremely successful career in acting. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been the crown jewel of his career, along with successful, critically acclaimed films likeArrival(starring Renner opposite Amy Adams)
While the acting career of theCaptain America: Civil Waralum is nothing to scoff at, Renner might go back to bowling. Initially, Renner mentioned how losing a game would make him feel:
“I’d be kicking the ball or turn cursing”
However, throughout the interview, Stern proposed that it might be time for Renner to start focusing on bowling again, siting actors and entertainers who take up boxing as a full-time career. Renner mentioned what a hit he is at bowling parties, and the various trick shots he can execute.
