The well-renowned personality is known for playing dark characters but there is something that many fans are unaware of him. He share a common teacher with Anthony Hopkins who modeled his iconic villain role based on him.

The 45-year-old actor,Tom Hardyhas been associated with several big projects that made him rose to prominence but his past is also quite interesting. He initially kicked off his stardom journey by modeling back in 1998.

The then-21-year-old Hardy joined a modeling competition and eventually won it which landed him into a short-term contract with a modeling agency. He then moved on to try his actual passion and got enrolled at the Drama Centre London.
While the studies and intense training were quite hard to pull off, a strict teacher further added much pressure to his then-schedule. It was reported that Christopher Fettes, a former teacher was in charge of teaching him. He was also the one to teach Anthony Hopkins, who credited him for his psychotic killer role.

While many can relate to how Hardy got that formidable intense bold character vibes within him early in his career. It was similar to Hopkins who was also taught by the same teacher. In fact, he even modeled him for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter, an infamous serial killer.

In an interview withVariety,he mentioned two inspirations for creating the character, one of them being his old mentor whom he met at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
“He had a cutting voice, and he would slice you to pieces,”Hopkins said.“His analysis of what you were doing was so precise; it’s a method that stayed with me for all my life.”
Given Mr. Fettes’s portrayal, one can’t deny that he had done a great job in inculcating great skills in his students who established themselves at a great place. While Hardy continues to make a comeback with his new projects, he is also among the top contenders for the next James Bond role. Meanwhile, he has already glimpsed about returning as the titular character inVenom 3which is in active development now.
