A well-known leaker who has a reputation for providing credible leaks has now shed some light on two futureFinal FantasyRemakeprojects.Final Fantasy 9 RemakeandFinal Fantasy 10 Remakehave been rumored for a long time now, without any credible or official news about them. Developers Square Enix are currently working onFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirthwhich is scheduled for an early 2024 release.

Final Fantasy 16was released earlier this year in June, and fans are looking forward to the game’s two DLCs and PC port which is also said to be under development. With rumors about more remakes gaining more traction, franchise fans should have a lot to look forward to, in 2024 and beyond.
New Leak Provides Details on Future Final Fantasy Remake Projects
Reputed leaker,TheRealImAHeroToo, took to Discord to clarify rumors about the next twoFinal Fantasy Remakeprojects. Kicking off withFinal Fantasy 9 Remakeplans, the leaks point to Summer 2024 plans for the title, as per initial plans.
Final Fantasy 9 Remakewas first rumored earlier this year in July when an industry insider Jeff Grubb clarified that while he had mentioned that the remake rumors were true, nothing else about the remake was known back then and those reported were incorrect.

The leaks about the Summer 2024 plans for the project may have changed by now, as per the updated claims. As for theFinal Fantasy 10 Remakeproject, the team behind it is said to have just started taking shape. For the moment, Square Enix is regularly updatingFinal Fantasy 16with performance fixes and new content for the game, like the addition of a Leaderboard to the title’s Arcade mode.
Producer Naoki Yoshida also revealed a couple of months back that a PC port ofFinal Fantasy 16is under development but isn’t scheduled for a release any time soon.

Square Enix Testing Final Fantasy Ports on Switch and PlayStation 5 DevKits
As for the rest of the rumors from the franchise, Square Enix is also said to be testingFinal Fantasy 7 Remakeon a Switch 2 DevKit and the title reportedly “looks and runs like a PS5 game” on the DevKit. This could lead to the title being a launch game whenever Switch 2 does launch.
Apart from new Final Fantasy Remake projects, Square Enix is also rumored to be testing the same title on a PlayStation 5 DevKit, which most likely might be the Pro version of the console, although the leaker added that he may wrong.

For the moment, franchise fans can look forward to the upcoming fifth expansion forFinal Fantasy 14, titledDawntrail. The title is already around 13 years old, and the upcoming expansion will reportedly bring about a major graphical update.
The team is said to be working on a complete overhaul that will see the game’s lighting, textures, object density, and the weather effect improve drastically. The required specs to run the game post the update might also get updated, although most modern systems should still be able to run it fine.

Recently, a player was reported to have completed all 2751 achievements inFinal Fantasy 14. While the player’s name was not revealed to respect their privacy, some of the achievements included 20,0000 hoards, 3000 victories in Frontline, 5000 victories in Crystaline Conflict or The Feast, and a skyward score of 500,000, which was posted on Reddit in detail.
Square Enix might still release other projects beforeFinal Fantasy 9gets a remake released. AFinal Fantasy 16crossover is also coming toFinal Fantasy 14, which was announced with a brilliant trailer last month. The crossover is bound to bring together heroes from both titles, facing epic battles.
There’s no official date for the collaboration but fans are already excited about the inclusion of a new mount called Torgal and a minion, also named Torgal. Fans can also look forward to fighting a powerful creature named Ifrit. Titled,The Path Infernal, the event will bring unique gears and other items as well, that players can collect in the collaboration.
