AfterShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringsdominated box office records during last Labor Day weekend, the mouse house is gearing up for their next slate of films and beyond as the years progress. While spikes of the COVID delta variant are spreading, there’s no denying that Shang-Chi’s “experiment” will definitely pay off in the end. So much so that Disney/20th Century are being fully committed to their theatrical release window for the rest of the year! Let’s break down all the news that’s going on!

The Walt Disney Company

45 Release Window Is Here To Stay

Some people have been… well let’s just say irked by Disney+’s Premier Access. Sure it was convenient for people who didn’t feel comfortable yet going back to the movies but we can’t deny the sort of problems its caused in Hollywood. Thankfully, all of Walt Disney Studios’ movies will have a limited 45 release window in theaters before hitting Disney+! Marvel StudiosEternals(Nov.5) falls under that category. However, Disney’s 60th animated featureEncantowill only be in theaters for 30 days before it hits the service on Christmas Eve. The movie releases on Thanksgiving weekend.

The same will be applied for 20th Century Studios!Free Guyis still showing to have strong legs in the box office but don’t expect to seeThe Last Duel(Oct.15th),Ron’s Gone Wrong(Oct.22nd), Steven Spielberg’sWest Side Story(Dec.10), orThe King’s Man(Dec.22nd) on Disney+ any time soon.
